A Wrench Before the Ride: Where’s My 10mm?!
Blew up your moped over the winter? Can’t get it to start? Lost your 10mm again? We’ve got you covered.
Join us as we kick off the riding season with an all-day wrench session at the MCR clubhouse! If you remember Get Your Shit Running (GYSR), think of this as the one-day sprint version. The goal is simple: get your questionable machine running before our first official ride of the season.
The shop opens at 9:00 AM with coffee and doughnuts to get everyone fueled up. We’ll have workbenches available, but let’s be honest… most of you will end up creating a pile of parts on the floor anyway. Bring your own tools if you have them!
Need a last-minute spark plug, throttle cable, or some other part you forgot to order? Detroit Moped Works (DMW) will be open throughout the day so you can grab whatever you need without missing out on the wrenching.
We’ll be hanging out, fixing bikes, helping each other out, and keeping everyone fed all day long. Then, sometime between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM (depending on when Waunband takes the stage), we’ll ride or drive over to Outer Limits to catch the show. Afterward, we’ll head back to the clubhouse for more wrenching, more food, and whatever the night turns into.
There isn’t an official end time. If you absolutely need a place to crash afterward, reach out to us ahead of time. We have limited sleeping space at the shop, so plan on bringing a sleeping bag or bedding if you intend to stay. Sleeping in your vehicle is also an option.
This event takes place one week before our first official ride of the season, making it the perfect opportunity to sort out those last-minute issues before it’s time to hit the road.
We hope to see a ton of familiar faces, along with anyone looking to get their moped back in fighting shape!
